Independent Visual Communication Designer
Wen-Li's primary design interests are within the fields of multimedia, film production and photography. Due to her background —being indigenous Taiwanese (Kavalan)— she is particularly interested in how design can help minorities and aid in shaping, maintaining, and projecting the futures of under-represented communities. These aspirations not only serve as the guiding ethos of her design, but, in addition, the gallery she founded in 2014, FOGSTAND Gallery & Studio.
She has over seven years of professional experience in commercial design and film production, both as in-house graphic designer and freelance. Over the past few years, she has collaborated with an increasingly diverse range of companies, entrepreneurs, designers, artists, illustrators, photographers, musicians, and poets for various design projects. Many of these collaborations have brought her into international networks with clients from Hong Kong, USA, UK, Macau and Singapore. These projects have involved (but are not limited to) the following: editorial design, digital design, print, promotional materials, poster design, album design, branding design, website design and exhibition design.
She currently teaches graphic design the University of Wisconsin-Stout, as well as works as a freelance visual arts writer, covering the Midwest and Taiwan.
